Dear Landowner,

Thank you for protecting Silver Lake by stabilizing your shoreline. We are happy to be able to assist some landowners with grant dollars from the Water Quality Commission.

The amount we will be able to fund at this time is up to ten percent (10%) of the cost of a project with a maximum of $5000.00. If you receive an award, you will be required to sign a 10-year maintenance agreement on your shoreline project (that will stay with the property if you sell). Any awards over $600 will receive a 1099 for that year.

This letter is to explain some of the items we will be expecting in your application.

1. The application and award will be for landowners only.
2. Best Management Practices shall be used.
3. Landowners shall consult with John Wills, Water Quality Commission coordinator (712.336.3782 Ext 3) and/or Mike Hawkins with Iowa Department of Natural Resources (712.330.1849), on their project.
4. Applications will be accepted up to and including August 1, 2022
