The Harris-Lake Park basketball teams wrapped up the regular season last night, hosting Ventura in Cornbelt Conference action.
Girls: Ventura 37, H-LP 22
Harris-Lake Park was hoping to end the regular season on a high note against Cornbelt Conference foe Ventura on Tuesday. In the end, the Lady Wolves found themselves on the losing end of a 37-22 ballgame.
H-LP ends the season at 7-13 overall and 6-6 in league contests. Harris-Lake Park hosts Clay Central-Everly on Thursday in the Class 1A Regional playoffs, and Q102 will have the play-by-play.
Boys: H-LP 63, Ventura 24
Despite a five-minute scoring drought in the second quarter, Harris-Lake Park pulled away from Ventura to cap an undefeated season with a 63-24 win in the Cornbelt Conference. The fifth-ranked Wolves, who had already clinched a second-straight league crown, ended the night with four players at ten points or better.
Eli Ihnen led the way with 18 points and Brady Nissen tallied thirteen points. H-LP went 20-0 this winter, and will not play again until they open Class 1A District play against either Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire or Clay Central-Everly. Q102 will have coverage from Lake Park on February 16.
