Basketball teams win at Terril

Harris-Lake Park made the cross-county trip to Terril Friday night, meeting up with the Raiders of Ruthven-Ayrshire/Graettinger-Terril in Cornbelt Conference play. The Wolves would end the night in Terril with a pair of wins, breaking a seven-game losing streak for the lady Wolves and keeping the boys' team perfect on the season.

Girls: H-LP 37, R-A/G-T 34

Cornbelt Conference rivals Harris-Lake Park and Ruthven-Ayrshire/Graettinger-Terril played to a three-point finish Friday, with the Wolves winning 37-34 in Terril.

H-LP led by 14 at the half before the Raiders rallied to keep it close, taking the second half 23-12. Noreen Morrow controlled the paint with 21 points for the Wolves, and fellow sophomore Grace Skattebo paced the Raiders with a dozen points.

RA/GT is 1-10 in league games and will try to end a 14-game losing streak at Clay Central-Everly on Tuesday. H-LP snaps a seven-game skid and improves to 6-5, with a home game against Ventura on Tuesday to wrap up the regular season.

Boys: H-LP 56, R-A/G-T 36

Undefeated Harris-Lake Park methodically pulled away from rival Ruthven-Ayrshire/Graettinger-Terril on Friday, defeating the Raiders 56-36 in Cornbelt Conference play.

Three players reached double digits offensively for the Wolves. Eli Ihnen was tops with 19 points, followed by Brady Nissen at thirteen points and Tanner Hiveley with ten points. Carter Williamson and Austin Dyer handled most of the scoring for RA/GT, dropping in eleven and ten points, respectively.

The Raiders are 4-7 in the league and take a six-game losing streak into Tuesday contest at Clay Central-Everly. The Wolves are 19-0 overall and will put the finishing touches on their second-straight conference title when they host Ventura on Tuesday.
