Harris-Lake Park built a 16-point lead in the second half of Tuesday's Class 1A District Semifinal with Newell-Fonda, only to see it nearly evaporate before the Wolves hung on for a 40-34 home win. The Mustangs used a 7-0 run in the fourth to claw back in, however, H-LP answered with clutch free throws by Brady Nissen.

Harris-Lake Park made the cross-county trip to Terril Friday night, meeting up with the Raiders of Ruthven-Ayrshire/Graettinger-Terril in Cornbelt Conference play. It was a three-team race at the Lakes Conference wrestling meet in Spencer on Friday with the hometown Tigers narrowly nipping rival Emmetsburg for the meet title. Spencer tallied 198.5 points, while the E-Hawks were right behind with 196.5. Seventh-ranked Spirit Lake Park finished third at 171.5, Estherville-Lincoln Central ended up fourth with 149.5, followed by Western Christian (115), Storm Lake (106.5), and LeMars and Cherokee tied for seventh at 101.
