Signs installed, new speed limit in effect by high school

Following a traffic study by the Dickinson County Engineer's Office, the City of Lake Park and the Lake Park Police Department, new signs have been installed and a new speed limit is now in effect in the area of the Middle/High School building in Lake Park.

The signs, installed Tuesday, reduce the speed limit along South Market Street (County Road M27) from 35 to 25 miles per hour from just south of 140th Street to the business district. Additional signs that were installed last week reduced the speed limit on 140th Street (cemetery road) to 25 miles per hour from M27 east approximately 800 feet. From there east to the cemetery, the speed limit is now 45 miles per hour. The new signage now brings these roads into compliance with the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD).

New signs were installed by Dickinson County this week reducing the speed limit near the Middle/High School. This followed action by the Dickinson County Board of Supervisors on December 20 to keep the stop signs in place at the intersection of South Market Street (M27) and Park Ave (see article).
